The Community School in the Danish city of Herning, designed by Friis & Moltke Architects, consists of five wings, together forming a star. Sempergreen supplied Sedum-mix blankets for the green roof, which covers a total area of 4300 m2.
Energy efficiency
The green roof is conducted in conjunction with PV panels. These PV panels have a higher efficiency due to the combination with the green roof. The Sedum roof creates a lower temperature on the roof, herewith increasing the performance of the solar panels by at least 6%. This project was realized in 2011.
