In the dune area of the Zeeuwse Vrouwenpolder a brand new and beautiful hotel has been realised, which is part of the Breezand holiday park. The design by RoosRos Architects stands out for its natural and sustainable appearance. Green roofs have been installed on several floors of the hotel to create a green, soothing atmosphere.
Sustainable green roof
Nature and sustainability are the two central design themes of the Breezand Duinhotel (dune hotel). The various green roofs, that have been placed on the building by roofer Quist & de Jonge BV, contribute to these themes. Spread over several floors, the green roofs are complemented with various types of grass to emphasise the connection with their natural environment. The green roof gardens not only let guests enjoy their beauty, but also play a role in cooling and offer many advantages for water storage, sound insulation and the promotion of biodiversity. Additionally, the vegetation contributes to the pleasant microclimate surrounding the building and the roof terrace.
