Gaithersburg High School, located just outside Washington, D.C., was founded in 1951. Through the years several expansions have taken place, making it the largest school in the Montgomery County area. In 2014 the school complex was completely modernized. The gray roofs, covering an area of 15,000 m2, were covered with green Sedummix blankets provided by Sempergreen USA. Modernizing this school has led to the sustainability certificate LEED Silver.
