The District Court of Rotterdam has been extensively renovated on behalf of the Central Government Real Estate Agency. Fokkema & Partners Architecten made the design in collaboration with Dura Vermeer. They designed a new entrance and meeting space, as well as an innovative office concept for the office floors. An impressive 9 meter high SemperGreenwall of 230m2 is part of the renewed reception area, the Galleria.
Living wall creates pleasant acoustics
Acoustics are some of the main reasons for the Central Government Real Estate Agency to opt for a green wall. A living wall acts as a sound barrier in a public space. The SemperGreenwall absorbs 41% more noise compared to a traditional wall and provides more environmental peace, especially in a busy entrance such as the Galleria, which is fitted with a glass roof. In addition to providing a connection between the office buildings and courtrooms, the entrance to the District Court offers a pleasant and welcoming environment to its visitors.
