On the Swedish island of Blidö, which is part of the archipelago off the coast of Stockholm, the existing tile roof of a residential accommodation has been replaced by a Sedum roof. The slightly sloping roof of the residential building in U-shape is equipped with a lightweight green roof system. The roof renovation and installation of the 220 m² green roof was carried out by Takfix.
Green roof enrichment for the natural environment
By applying the green roof, the living accommodation complements the natural environment of Blidö. The green roof does not only offer a nice view, but also has a heat-regulating effect, which ensures a pleasant indoor climate. The Sedum roof also supports the functioning of the local ecosystem and therefore has a positive effect on the biodiversity.
