Løren School is a public primary school in Oslo with 750 students and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, as already demonstrated by its existing green roof. In 2022, Løren School went a step further in its sustainability journey by becoming the site of Over Easy’s first green roof pilot project. Over Easy Solar’s Vertical Photovoltaic (VPV) unit was seamlessly retrofitted onto the school’s sedum roof, showcasing the promising benefits of integrating green roofs with solar technology.
The combined perks of going green and solar
Over Easy Solar’s VPV unit is a lightweight and prefabricated solution that is optimized for sedum green roofs, so that energy efficiency and environmental quality go hand in hand. However, the benefits of this solution extend beyond simply merging the advantages of green roof and solar: the sedum thrives below the panels, while the performance of the VPV unit is increased by the green roof’s presence.
