The brand new ‘Kulturhus de Burcht van Haeften’ in the Dutch city of Haaften, designed by Elemans Van den Hork architecten, is the multifunctional center of the village. Two schools, a kindergarten, gym, library and meeting place are housed here.
Sloping green roof
The three building sections - sports, culture and education - are positioned around a greenhouse, typical for the area of Haaften. From the greenhouse you have an unobstructed view upon the almost 400 sqm counting green roof. The sloping green roof was landscaped by Cityroofs with Sempergreen Sedum-mix blankets, surrounded by a vegetation free zone with gravel and tiles.
