B-Award 'Clean Air Schools'
When designing the new building of this school, architect Mecanoo emphasized an open, friendly and safe environment where children feel at home and where they can learn, play and meet each other. The human dimension and sense of safety and security were key elements in the design. With a decentralized indoor climate control Kiem obtained a category B award within the 'Clean Air Schools' concept. The sloping green roof features Sempergreen Sedum-mix blankets and contributes to the sustainability of this property.
