The Hyatt Regency Spinoza Hotel in Amsterdam officially opened its doors in June 2017. This luxury 5-star hotel with 211 rooms was built on the site of the former Emma Children's Hospital in the city center of Amsterdam. Hyatt Regency Amsterdam wants to connect the elements of city and nature, therefore the addition of greenery played a major role in the design.
Most sustainable hotel
From the beginning, the aim was to build an energetic and sustainable hotel. At the request of Van Dongen-Koschuch Architects, Sempergreen has realized two green facades. The collaboration with landscape architect Marnix Tavenier, who made the planting plans, has led to the beautiful green view gracing both the exterior and the interior of the building. For this project, a BREEAM-NL Excellent certificate has been obtained and with a score of 73.26% the Hyatt Regency can call itself the most sustainable hotel in the Netherlands.
